According to the general index of satisfaction, Greece remains at the top of the list of favourite tourist destinations across the world.
Ekathimerini, a local media, cites a report from SchengenVisaInfo.com. It states that Greece has earned 87% on the satisfaction index followed by Cyprus with 85.6% in 2022’s first 11 months.
The trend repeated the results of 2019 when Greece had 87.1% on the overall satisfaction index. Even then Croatia got the second spot with 85.5% on the index.
While Greece might be a clear winner overall, it has tough competition in categories like goods, entertainment, and cleanliness.
Other data from INSETE (Institute of Greek Confederation of Tourism) has recorded a positive travel experience for 80% of tourists visiting Greece.
On the hotel satisfaction index until November 2022, Greek has 86.8% and the first rank. Cyprus and Croatia shared the second spot with 84.9% followed by Spain (84.1%), Italy (83.1%), Turkey (80.5%), and France (78.4%).
However, in the hotel cleanliness category, Greece stands third with 90.6% while Cyprus (91.8%) and Italy (91.7%) take the top two spots.
Greece stands third in the food and drinks category as well with 82.7% while Turkey (84.3%) leads the list followed by Cyprus (84.2%).
Turkey tops two more lists with 90.4% and 86.8% respectively in location and value-for-money categories while Cyprus stands second (90.3% and 86.6%). Greece with 87.3% stands fifth in the location category and is third in the value-for-money category with 85.1%.
Earlier, Conde Nest (a travel magazine) shared a list of the best holiday destinations that its readers chose. Greece was sixth on the list with an 89.97% score, narrowly beating the UK and Denmark. And, Greece also earned numerous honours in October at World Travel Awards 2022’s European Gala Ceremony.
